We were gathered together to pick names out of a hat. Once we drew a name, we had come up with an idea and quickly create our set up for our subject. Once the set was created, we had fifteen minutes to make a great executive portrait. Talk about completely nerve wrecking. However, I lucked out. I drew the chief of campus police, Chief Joe Markham. He was a great subject and very patient. Here is the image that was pick and printed for our project. I do hope he likes it.</p> <p><a title="Chief Joe Markham by AnaDoemland, on Flickr" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43599508@N06/4151750768/"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2559/4151750768_df527f29c0.jpg" alt="Chief Joe Markham" height="221" width="350" /></a></p> </div> </div>Ana Doemlandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10402012412455640803noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805700765607699540.post-77115030789181316202009-12-01T18:39:00.001-05:002009-12-01T18:39:17.715-05:00Dennis Stock<a href="http://www.magnumphotos.com/Archive/C.aspx?VP3=ViewBox_VPage&VBID=2K1HZS5BTFWQ&IT=ZoomImage01_VForm&IID=2K7O3RNICOZ&PN=3&CT=Search"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-370" title="NYC16133" src="http://adoemland.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/nyc16133.jpg?w=300&h=200" alt="" height="200" width="300" /></a><br />I have come to a conclusion that I really enjoy looking through the <a href="http://www.magnumphotos.com/Archive/C.aspx?VP=XSpecific_MAG.AgencyHome_VPage&pid=2K7O3R1VX08V" target="_self">Magnum</a> <a href="http://www.magnumphotos.com/Archive/C.aspx?VP=XSpecific_MAG.StaticPage_VPage&SP=photographers_list&l1=0&XXAPXX=SubPanel10" target="_self">photographer pages</a>. These skills included color correcting, burning and dodging and restoring damaged images. This quarter for our Multimedia II class, we were asked to create a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/" target="_self">YouTube</a> video of our technical skills book. Therefore, the image below contains the skills that I have acquired. After watching a couple seasons of </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.cwtv.com/shows/americas-next-top-model13">America's Next Top Model</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">, I found the photographer of most of the shoots, </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.studionb.com/">Nigel Barker</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">, quite interesting. I just find the whole shoot profound. I don't know how else to describe it. Therefore, I suggest going to </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.youtube.com/">YouTube</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"> and looking </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.studionb.com/">Nigel Barker</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"> and</span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.cwtv.com/shows/americas-next-top-model13"> America's Next Top Model</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">. Therefore, I decided to reshoot my fantasy for advanced portraiture. My theme was “</span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://wherethewildthingsare.warnerbros.com/" target="_self">Where the Wild Things Are</a><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms;">“. I thank </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://amyandoe.wordpress.com/" target="_self">Amy</a><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms;"> for being my model once again and helping me out. She’s been quite helpful and aaaawesome! So here’s a peek at the new “Wild Thing.” Let me know what you think!</span><br /><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" title="Wild Thing by AnaDoemland, on Flickr" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43599508@N06/4122399480/"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2541/4122399480_9f7a8f5b5c.jpg" alt="Wild Thing" height="500" width="334" /></a>Ana Doemlandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10402012412455640803noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805700765607699540.post-40431406179738716802009-11-20T00:01:00.004-05:002009-11-20T10:36:16.236-05:00Amy Blues, Part IISo, <a href="http://www.amyrosephotography.blogspot.com/">Amy</a> is completely awesome. Mrs. Harkins, our advanced portraiture teacher, as well for helping me as much as she did with my photo shoot. So, I decided to attempt my low key photo shoot a second time. I thank <a href="http://www.amyrosephotography.blogspot.com/">Amy</a> for posing me again. I thought I would experiment with lights this time. I think I was a bit more successful. You be the judge!<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/43599508@N06/4118445151/" title="Amy Blues by AnaDoemland, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2747/4118445151_98a5869fab.jpg" alt="Amy Blues" height="500" width="334" /></a>Ana Doemlandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10402012412455640803noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805700765607699540.post-3069102536908595992009-11-18T21:51:00.004-05:002009-11-18T22:05:10.301-05:00Jerry Uelsmann<a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.uelsmann.net/"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 252px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFcMqLgPUXrwAShoTNr41nQaApMrobAyDM1jtk5JJGAcqDm_5Gd84Yvjm1EsoeJygKv10anJHAqPDz7VIzSoGUmhyphenhyphenn-G4cUHY5GR53nNA9r_pj2KnBRu5U6kKD72hvXr6NDKxmuQESlBc/s320/uelsmann_small_woods.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405644793297078914" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms;">Another major inspiration to me is (has been for almost five years) is </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.uelsmann.net/">Jerry Uelsmann</a><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms;">. His work is breath-taking. None the less, his creations of intriguing and unique compositions is mainly done in the a darkroom. I've have tried to do something like his work with digital. It is much harder than it seems. His method is just wow. His name is </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.pdngallery.com/legends/bailey/bio.shtml">David Bailey</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">. I find his black and white film photography beautiful in the most simplistic form. Therefore, </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://amyrosephotography.blogspot.com/">Amy</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"> and I went back to </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.myspace.com/double0inktattoos">Double-0 Ink</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">. I found that singling out Jimmy and playing with some angles would make it pretty interesting. However, I do wish that I could have played with a gel on the background, but </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://amyrosephotography.blogspot.com/">Amy</a> and I were having some difficulty with our light kit.<span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"> I did get something I liked. I will be going back to play with the gels. I'd like to thank </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://amyrosephotography.blogspot.com/">Amy</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"> for helping and her patience. I would also like to thank Jimmy for being my subject and being patient with all the technical difficulties. Therefore, I decided to blog about </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.joeyl.com/">Joey Lawrence</a><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms;">. His work is pretty awesome.
